'Israel's interpretation of self-defense is a parody of international law'

Since June 13, Israel and Iran have been engaged in an open conflict, triggered by an initial wave of Israeli strikes targeting military and nuclear facilities on Iranian soil, as well as security and nuclear officials. The clashes have so far resulted in 24 Israeli deaths and 224 Iranian deaths, mostly civilians, according to figures released by the respective authorities. Tehran, condemning an attack on its territory, has accused Israel of causing major damage to civilian infrastructure, including the Farbi Hospital in western Iran, and of assassinating nine Iranian scientists, notably through car bombings, an accusation dismissed by an Israeli official speaking to the Israeli channel Kan.
