Loud explosions heard in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem after Iranian missile fire

BEIRUT — Alert sirens sounded in certain areas of Israel on Tuesday morning after missile fire from Iran, the army said, while journalists from AFP heard loud explosions in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

"A short while ago, sirens went off in several regions of Israel after identifying missiles launched from Iran towards the State of Israel," the army said in a statement, adding that the air force was "in operation to intercept and strike where necessary to eliminate the threat."
