BEIRUT — The Cabinet, meeting Monday at Baabda Palace under President Joseph Aoun, approved long-awaited diplomatic appointments pending since 2017.

Below is a partial list of newly appointed ambassadors as reported by local media:

France: Rabih al-Shaer

United States: Nada Hamadeh Mouawad

Vatican: Fady Assaf

Turkey: Mounir Aanouti

Cyprus: Jeanne Mourad

Switzerland: Caroline Ziadeh

Austria: Cynthia Shidiac

Kuwait: Ghady Khoury

South Korea: Waël Hachem

Spain: Hani Shmaytelli

Russia: Bashir Azzam

Canada: Bashir Tawk

UNESCO: Hind Darwish
