BEIRUT — The Israeli army announced Sunday it carried out an airstrike on Machhad airport, the third-largest city in Iran, in the northeast of the country.
The Air Force struck "recently [...] an Iranian aerial refueling aircraft at Machhad airport [...] about 2,300 kilometers from Israel," a military statement said. This is the furthest strike into Iranian territory carried out by Israel since it began its attack against Iran on Friday, the text adds.
