BEIRUT — On the third day of the conflict, ten people have been killed in Israel due to missile and drone strikes from Iran, in retaliation for Israel's unprecedented attacks on the Islamic Republic.

Here are the developments over the last 24 hours.

Calls to evacuate in Iran

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered the Israeli army on Sunday to issue evacuation notices to residents of Tehran living near weapon manufacturing sites.

This decision is part of a plan "to put pressure on the regime" by creating population displacements, an Israeli security source told AFP.

Such evacuation calls are regularly posted for the population of Gaza, and, more rarely since the cease-fire, for South Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut.

The toll of Iranian strikes on Israel

Ten people have died and more than 200 have been injured since Saturday evening in Iranian missile and drone strikes on Israel, according to rescue services, police, and hospitals. This new toll brings the total number of deaths in Israel to 13 since the beginning on Friday.

'May God let oppressors strike other oppressors': Syrians rejoice over strikes against Iran

Iran has not yet released an official toll of Israeli strikes.

The Israeli army announced on Sunday that it intercepted Iranian drones launched in its direction.

"We are defending ourselves against aggression. Our defense is entirely legitimate," Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Sunday to foreign diplomats. "If the aggression stops, our response will naturally cease as well," he assured.

Bombings in Tehran and Isfahan

On Sunday morning, Iran was the target of new Israeli bombings, notably the capital Tehran, where a fuel depot was hit by a night strike. The Israeli army stated it had targeted sites "linked to the Iranian regime's nuclear weapons project" in Tehran.

Analysis

The Israel-Iran war has been declared. And now?

"One of the centers under the Ministry of Defense in Isfahan was attacked," reported the Iranian news agency ISNA, citing the province's deputy governor.

American forces at work?

Tehran claims to have "solid evidence" of U.S. support for the Israeli attacks.

U.S. President Donald Trump, an ally of Israel, warned Iran that his army would retaliate with "all its might" if it attacked the United States, while reaffirming that his country "had nothing to do" with the Israeli attacks.

An American official indicated that the United States had assisted Israel in shooting down Iranian missiles.

Car bomb explosions in Tehran

Five car bomb explosions were reported in Tehran recently, according to Iran's IRNA news agency, which accused Israel of being behind the attacks.

Meanwhile, Reuters reports that several Iranian nuclear scientists were targeted in such attacks and are among the 14 people killed by the Israeli military since Friday, according to two Gulf sources.

Nuclear negotiations 'derailed'

"It is quite clear that the Israeli regime does not want any agreement on the nuclear issue. It does not want negotiations[...]," Araghchi said on Sunday, claiming that Israel's attack was an "attempt to undermine diplomacy and derail negotiations" between the Islamic Republic and the United States.

"We are ready to conclude any agreement to ensure that Iran does not seek to acquire nuclear weapons," the diplomatic chief assured, while repeating that Tehran would not accept any agreement that "would deprive Iran of its nuclear rights."

Arrest of two suspected spies

The Iranian police arrested two people suspected of having links with the Israeli foreign intelligence service (Mossad).

"Two members of the Mossad terrorist team manufacturing bombs, explosives, booby traps, and electronic equipment were arrested" in the Alborz province west of Tehran, reported the Iranian news agency Tasnim, citing a police spokesperson.

The Houthis claim to have fired missiles at Israel

The Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen declared on Sunday that they had fired missiles towards central Israel.

In a statement, these insurgents who control large parts of Yemen, announced they had "carried out a military operation targeting strategic enemy targets in the occupied region of Yaffa (Arabic name for Jaffa, a neighborhood of Tel Aviv) using several Palestine 2 hypersonic ballistic missiles."

During the night, the Israeli army had attempted to assassinate the Houthi military chief of staff, Mohammad al-Ghamari, but his condition was not immediately known.

Israeli airspace remains closed

The Israeli airspace remains closed on Sunday, for the third consecutive day.

"Israeli airspace remains closed, Ben Gurion airport [near Tel Aviv] is still closed to arrivals and departures," the Israeli Airport Authority stated.
