Talal Arslan calls Israeli attack on Iran a terrorist act

BEIRUT — Head of the Lebanese Democratic Party, Druze leader Talal Arslan, condemned the Israeli attack on Iran on Saturday, calling it a "new episode of organized terrorism exercised by Israel, which defies all international norms and humanitarian laws."

"In light of the rapid developments in the region, and following the blatant Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, we express our firm condemnation of this heinous act, which is not only a flagrant violation of Iranian sovereignty but also represents a new episode of organized terrorism exercised by Israel, which defies all international norms and humanitarian laws," Arslan said in a statement cited by the National News Agency.

"What Israel has undertaken does not only target the Islamic Republic of Iran, but it aims at an entire axis of stability and hinders all international efforts made to prevent an escalation towards open confrontations in the region."

He described the Iranian response on Friday night as a "clear and firm message indicating that the time of impunity is over, and that the usurping entity is no longer able to continue its attacks without facing a response or a deterrent."

Israel conducted a series of unprecedented attacks against Iran before dawn on Friday and Iran retaliated on Friday night, hitting Tel Aviv and military sites several times.
