The Israeli army said Saturday it targeted Iranian air defense systems during an overnight wave of strikes near Tehran.
“During the night, the air force struck dozens of targets, including surface-to-air missile infrastructure, as part of an operation aimed at destroying the regime’s air defense capabilities in the Tehran region,” the army said in a statement.
“For the first time since the start of the war, more than 1,500 kilometers from Israeli territory, the air force struck defense installations in the Tehran region,” it added.
