The Israeli army continued its cease-fire violations on Thursday, with both a land incursion and a targeted strike. In the afternoon, an Israeli drone targeted a motorcycle in Deir Siryan, in the Marjayoun district, injuring a rescuer from the al-Rissala scouts affiliated with the Amal movement, according to our correspondent in the South.
On the night from Wednesday to Thursday, an Israeli drone dropped five bombs on a livestock farm in the border village of Ramaya (Bint Jbeil district), killing several cattle. At dawn, an Israeli army unit conducted an incursion up to the outskirts of Aita al-Shaab, opposite the Israeli post of al-Raheb. Israeli soldiers blew up a poultry farm before withdrawing, according to village residents.
Lebanese Army operations
Israeli incursions at the Lebanese border have been recurring in recent weeks and are often marked by the dirt mounds left by the Israeli army after their passage, outside the five positions it still controls in southern Lebanon. In this context, the Lebanese Army cleared dirt mounds from a road on the heights of Sadane, facing the Israeli position of Roueissat al-Alam, in the heights of Kfar Shuba (Hasbaya district), according to our correspondent, and around the locality of Shebaa (also in the Hasbaya district), reopening roads, according to a Lebanese Army statement.
Meanwhile, an army convoy carrying military vehicles, possibly seized from Hezbollah, was seen crossing Saida towards Beirut, according to our correspondent. The troops also detonated unexploded munitions from previous Israeli strikes in the Bekaa Valley and the Ainata region (Bint Jbeil district). In this southern Lebanon village, two soldiers were slightly injured during the handling, reports an army statement.
In military terms, President Joseph Aoun met Thursday morning with the army's commander-in-chief, Rodolphe Haykal, to review the security situation and the persistent Israeli aggressions, more than six months after the truce between Lebanon and Israel, announced Baabda on X.
On the diplomatic front, the governor of Nabatieh, Hwaida Turk, received the French ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro. The two officials discussed reconstruction efforts in the governorate, severely hit by Israeli bombings during the war last autumn. "Reconstruction requires the support of Lebanon's friendly countries," she pleaded, according to remarks relayed by the National News Agency.
Turk also received the commander of UNIFIL's Eastern sector, General Ricardo Esteban Cabrejos. They notably discussed cooperation between UNIFIL and the Lebanese Army.
