BEIRUT — The Israeli NGO Adalah announced Thursday that immigration authorities informed them that six activists, including Franco-Palestinian EU lawmaker Rima Hassan, were being deported and headed to the airport.
“After more than 72 hours of detention in Israel following the illegal interception of the [sailing ship] Madleen in international waters, six volunteers are now being transferred to Ben Gurion airport for deportation,” the NGO specified. These six activists are Rima Hassan, another French national, and four individuals from Germany, Turkey, the Netherlands, and Brazil, it adds in a statement, and “they are to be expelled 'today [Thursday] or early tomorrow morning [Friday].'”
