Three Syrian children drowned Sunday night in an agricultural pond in Moallaqa (Zahle district), after they had reportedly dived in.

According to L'Orient Today's correspondent in the region, the Civil Defense faced difficulty finding their bodies, finally managing to retrieve them at dawn on Monday, before transporting them to Zahle Governmental Hospital.

The Civil Defense in the Bekaa had to call in divers from Beirut as they needed reinforcement in the muddy and opaque water of the pond, as well as tree leaves floating on the surface.
