BEIRUT — Young men attacked on Thursday the home of Change MP Yassin Yassin in the village of Ghazzeh in the Western Bekaa over the results of the recent municipal elections, according to our correspondent.
Attackers arrived to the house's location in more than 15 cars and forcefully struck the house's door at a time when Yassin was not home.
The MP had taken a neutral stance regarding both sides that were competing in Ghazzeh's elections, which took place along with the rest of the Bekaa and Beirut on May 18.
According to our correspondent, Yassin filed a lawsuit against the attackers, accusing them of assault and issuing death threats.
The municipal elections, which were organized after three years of repeated postponements have already taken place in Mount Lebanon, Northern Lebanon, Beirut, and the Bekaa. The voting will be held Saturday in the South.
