Israel defies pressure as UK halts trade talks

On Tuesday, Israel criticized what it described as "external pressures" following the UK's decision to suspend negotiations for a free trade agreement with the Israeli government. This move was in response to the escalation of Israel's military actions in Gaza.

"External pressures will not deter Israel from its path, which is to defend its existence and security against enemies seeking to destroy it," stated the Foreign Affairs Ministry in a briefing. "If, due to its anti-Israel obsession and internal political considerations, the British government is willing to harm its own economy, that is its prerogative," it added.
