Multiple fires broke out Saturday in several Lebanese regions, fueled by a heatwave. In South Lebanon, our correspondent reports several fire outbreaks, particularly in the regions of Majdelzoun, Azzieh, Tayr Harfa and in the area of Alma al-Shaab (Sour district).
A fire in the Zrarieh area, also in Sour, has been ongoing for several hours. These natural fires add to a list of Israeli strikes and a constant overflight by Israeli aircraft.
Another major fire broke out in a forest in the village of Deir Dourit, in Chouf (Mount Lebanon), where the flames dangerously approached homes, according to the state-run National News Agency(NNA). The intervention of Civil Defense managed to contain the fire, which had previously destroyed agricultural areas.
Another fire erupted near the Sunni Sharia court headquarters in Beirut, in the Tarik el-Jdideh neighborhood, according to (NNA). Firefighters worked to extinguish it.
In addition, a car caught fire on the Bhamdoun road, in the Aley district, as reported by our correspondent. This incident contributed to increasing significant traffic on this road leading to the Beqaa, on the eve of municipal elections in this region.
