Two presidents of the Court of Cassation’s chambers — Nada Dakroub, president of the 8th chamber, and Habib Rizkallah, president of the 9th chamber — were elected by acclamation on Thursday to the Higher Judicial Council (HJC), by the presidents and assessors of the 10 chambers, during a meeting, under the chairmanship of Souheil Abboud, HJC president and first president of the Court of Cassation.The two elections were held according to the principle of sectarian distribution of seats. In this context, two positions were to be filled, one reserved for a Shiite and the other for a Maronite.
