BEIRUT — An Israeli drone strike on Thursday killed a man in southern Lebanon, the Lebanese Health Ministry said, as Israeli strikes continue despite the cease-fire with Hezbollah in place since Nov. 27, 2024.

The man, identified as Mohammad Marouni, was killed when an Israeli drone targeted a crane on the road connecting Arnoun to Yohmor, in the Nabatieh district.

The Israeli army claimed that the strike "eliminated a Hezbollah member involved in rebuilding the organization's terrorist infrastructure in the area."

Separately, an Israeli drone fired a grenade at a house in Kfar Kila, in the Marjayoun district, according to L’Orient Today regional correspondent. The resident, who was in the courtyard at the time, was not injured.

Israeli artillery also fired approximately 15 shells at Jabal al-Sadana, south of the village of Shebaa in the Hasbaya district, the correspondent added.

Overnight and into Thursday morning, Israeli drones struck two prefabricated buildings near the border — one in Houla and another in Odaisseh, both in the Marjayoun district. The building in Houla, which belonged to the local charity Wa Taawanou (Help Each Other), was later hit by missiles launched from an Israeli helicopter.

On Wednesday evening, Israeli gunfire was targeted an area near Maroun al-Ras in the Bint Jbeil district. The shots came from an Israeli position established inside the Lebanese territory of Jabal Blat, near the border village of Aitaroun.
