Pope Leo XIV on Wednesday urged Eastern Christians not to "abandon" their lands, asking for them "all the necessary rights for a secure existence."
"I would like to thank ... the Christians — Eastern and Latin — who, especially in the Middle East, persevere and remain on their lands, stronger than the temptation to abandon these lands," he said during an audience at the Vatican with participants in the Jubilee of the Eastern Churches.
