As part of the ongoing preparations on the eve of the municipal elections scheduled to take place over several stages in May, the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ahmad Hajjar, inspected the central operations room dedicated to the elections at the ministry's headquarters on Saturday.

The central room, whose work begins on April 28 and ends on June 6, 2025, will include representatives from security services and general directors of the ministry. Its mission is to oversee the electoral process, receive complaints, propose appropriate measures during the electoral process, coordinate between different operation centers belonging to the Lebanese Army, Internal Security Forces (ISF), General Security, and State Security, and ensure the security of the process and its smooth conduct.

On this occasion, Minister Hajjar was briefed on the technical preparations made by the administrative and security teams and urged them to intensify their efforts to ensure the success of the electoral process across its stages during four weekends in May.

The municipal elections are taking place this year after a three-year delay, following various crises that prevented their occurrence in 2022.
