Explosion in major southern port reportedly injures 47


A "powerful explosion" occurred Saturday in Iran in a major commercial port in the south of the country, state television reported, without reporting any casualties immediately and adding that the cause of the disaster is unknown, which reportedly injured at least 47 people according to a local media outlet.

"A powerful explosion occurred on a dock at the Shahid Rajaei port," located more than a thousand kilometers south of the capital Tehran, said a port authority official, Esmail Malekizadeh, to state television.
