The managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, has called on countries to resolve their trade disputes to "end the uncertainty" that is penalizing global economic activity.

Speaking at a press conference at the organization's headquarters in Washington, the head of the Fund noted that this uncertainty, related to the U.S. policy of raising tariffs, is the main factor behind the organization's downgraded projections for 2025 and 2026. She also urged countries to "get their finances in order" to "reduce imbalances" and to launch "reforms that promote growth."
