The Palestinian Civil Defense announced Thursday that Israeli airstrikes on tents housing displaced persons had resulted in 25 deaths in several locations across the Gaza Strip.
“At least 16 martyrs, most of them women and children, and 23 others were injured following a direct strike by two Israeli missiles on several tents housing displaced families in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis in the southern Palestinian territory,” the spokesperson for this relief organization, Mahmoud Bassal, told AFP.
Another strike on a displaced persons' tent resulted in seven deaths, “mostly women and children,” and 13 injuries in Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip, he added. A father and his child were also killed and 13 people injured in a third strike on another displaced persons' tent, also near the Al-Mawasi area, he specified.
Contacted by AFP, the Israeli army did not comment on this information immediately.
