Technical teams from the Ministry of Agriculture, supported by customs officers and Lebanon’s State Security Forces, inspected a warehouse in the town of Beit Al-Faqs, in the Dinnieh district of northern Lebanon, L'Orient Today's correspondent in the north reported Sunday.

The warehouse was found to be producing fake honey by using High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS), which was being heated, packaged, and sold as natural honey. This counterfeit product was being marketed at lower prices than genuine honey, our correspondent reported.

Following approval from the relevant judicial authorities, over 200 containers, 50 boxes and various vitamins were confiscated. The warehouse was sealed with red wax, and those responsible were referred to the competent judicial authorities for legal action, according to our correspondent.

In a statement, the Ministry of Agriculture reaffirmed that protecting natural Lebanese honey and ensuring the safety of agricultural production — both plant and animal — remain core priorities. It emphasized the continuation of strict measures against violators to safeguard local agricultural products, uphold production quality, and protect consumer health.
