In the early months of the war in Gaza, Israeli soldiers were ordered to methodically and deliberately raze buildings and farmland located at the enclave's border to create a buffer zone, cleared of all human life, about a mile and a half deep from north to south.Today, the perimeter surrounding the enclave reveals a desolate landscape similar to "Hiroshima." This emerged from the statements of Israeli soldiers who served since Oct. 8, 2023, in the Palestinian enclave, supported by a report from an army commander involved in planning the buffer zone. All spoke anonymously.
