The Lebanese Forces (LF) party, led by Samir Geagea, announced on Sunday, through a statement posted on their website, that they have formed an alliance with Myriam Skaff's Popular Bloc for the upcoming municipal elections scheduled for May. The two parties will present a unified list and have called on the residents of Zahle (Bekaa), where they are running, to vote "massively" in their favor, while rejecting "any postponement" of the election "for any reason whatsoever."

"As the municipal elections approach [...], the Lebanese Forces, through its MPs and coordinators in Zahle, as well as the Popular Bloc, represented by its president, Myriam Skaff, entered into negotiations to form an electoral alliance. This alliance, which is developmental and local in nature, aims to unite efforts to bring about the desired change in the city of Zahle and to initiate a dynamic of local renewal at all levels," the statement emphasized.

"The alliance between the two parties in the municipal elections calms the general atmosphere of the city of Zahle, which aligns with their shared desire and that of their popular bases," the authors of the statement added.

The upcoming election has been postponed year after year since 2022 by Parliament due to the socio-economic crisis, and in 2024 due to the war in South Lebanon.
