The United States reportedly transferred an additional THAAD air defense battery and two Patriot air defense batteries to Israel, according to reports from Arab and Israeli media outlets on Sunday.

THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) is an advanced anti-missile system that was previously deployed to Israel in October 2024. It has been used to intercept missiles fired at Israel by the Houthis.

According to The Times of Israel, the battery was delivered on Saturday. The newspaper reported that “flight tracking websites showed that an American C-5M Super Galaxy, the U.S. Air Force’s largest transport plane, landed at Negev’s Negev Airbase in southern Israel and remained there for about eight hours before departing.”

This transfer comes amid U.S. strikes on Houthi positions in Yemen and the ongoing threat of potential U.S. military action against Iran, should nuclear negotiations with Tehran collapse.
