Houthi rebel media in Yemen reported on Saturday one dead and several wounded in new strikes on the northern part of the country, attributed to the United States. "A citizen was killed and four others were injured in the U.S. aggression against a solar energy store in the Hafsin district, west of the city of Saadah," said the Saba news agency and Al-Massirah channel.

The two media outlets had earlier reported four strikes in Saadah, a stronghold of the rebels in northern Yemen. "Civil protection teams are working to extinguish the fires and rescue the victims," Saba reported.

The United States launched a military offensive against the Houthis, backed by Iran, on March 15, promising to use overwhelming force as long as they continue to target ships traveling on key maritime routes in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump posted a video on his Truth Social network showing several dozen people gathered in a circle, first in the crosshairs, then bombed. "These Houthis gathered to receive instructions for an attack," he wrote. "Oops, there will be no attacks made by these Houthis. They will never sink our ships again!" Trump added.

Saba agency stated on Saturday that the event took place in the Hodeida governorate during the Eid holiday, marking the end of Ramadan. "The people present at this gathering had nothing to do with the operations off the coast of Yemen," it said.

The rebels, who control large parts of the war-torn country, say they are targeting ships linked to Israel in solidarity with the Palestinians, in the context of the war between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas in Gaza. They also claim to target U.S. warships in the Red Sea in response to airstrikes against them.
