Dar el-Fatwa, the highest Sunni religious authority in Lebanon, announced in a statement that Sunday, March 30, will mark the first day of Eid al-Fitr, which signifies the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
The Grand Mufti of the Republic, Abdellatif Deriane, has tasked Sheikh Amine el-Kurdi with leading the Eid prayer and sermon on Sunday morning at 7:15 a.m. at the Mohammad al-Amin Mosque in downtown Beirut. Additionally, the statement noted that the mufti will refrain from receiving visitors for the holiday.
