'Pope in black' invites Lebanese people to prioritize dialogue

Father Arturo Sosa S.J., superior general of the Society of Jesus, concluded his seven-day visit to Lebanon, during which he celebrated St. Joseph's Day and the 150th anniversary of Saint Joseph University.

"In this crisis, you are not alone." These few words summarize the solidarity expressed Wednesday to the Lebanese people by the Society of Jesus's superior general, Arturo Sosa S.J. He visited Lebanon for just a few days, as part of a regional tour that also took him to Jordan and Egypt. On March 19, he took part in the 150th anniversary of Saint Joseph University (USJ). The event hosted honorary guests such as USJ's rector, Father Salim Daccache, Father Victor Assouad, a member of the general council of the superior general, Father Michael Zammit Mangion, provincial superior of the Society of Jesus for the Middle East and North Africa, the president of the Federation of the USJ Alumni Associations, Dr. Christian Makary, and a host of political, judicial and academic figures.Superior Arturo Sosa told L'Orient-Le...
