HJC pays tribute to Judge Hatem Madi

The High Judicial Council (HJC) praised, Thursday, the memory of retired Judge Hatem Moustapha Madi, honorary secretary-general of the Court of Cassation, who has recently passed away.

Recounting the most memorable stages of the magistrate's career, they recalled, in a statement, that Hatem Madi had been a judge since 1974 and held several positions during his tenure: first examining magistrate of Nabatieh, first examining magistrate of Beirut, examining magistrate at the Court of Justice, chamber president at the Court of Cassation, interim first president of the Court of Cassation, president of the High Court tasked with judging presidents and ministers, and, finally, attorney general at the Court of Cassation.

The HJC highlights the fact that Judge Hatem Madi held numerous prestigious positions and was known for his competence and integrity. He produced scientific and academic publications, including several important studies in criminal law, and gave numerous lectures at the Judicial Studies Institute and in law faculties.
