An arrest warrant was issued on Monday for a judge accused of accepting bribes while performing his duties. I.Z., a former first investigative judge in the Bekaa, was arrested under the orders of Judge Pierre Francis. The latter was appointed ad hoc first investigative judge by the First President of the Court of Cassation Souhail Abboud. Abboud had appointed him to examine this case about a year and a half ago.The arrest followed an interrogation by Francis, who, in line with Article 348 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, sought approval from Abboud.
