Deadly Israeli drone strike in Yohmor al-Shaqif, southern Lebanon

An Israeli drone bombed a moped in Yohmor al-Shaqif, in the Nabatieh district, southern Lebanon, according to information from our correspondent Mountasser Abdallah. This strike resulted in one death and three injuries, the Health Ministry said, while eyewitnesses reported two fatalities, several injuries and significant material damage.

The Israeli drone targeted a moped driving in front of a supermarket in the center of the town while pedestrians were walking nearby, some of whom were slightly injured in the shooting, as well as a van. The van and the supermarket near the target caught fire.

The Israeli army stated that it conducted airstrikes on two Hezbollah members in southern Lebanon. "Not long ago, two Hezbollah terrorists who served as surveillance agents and directed terrorist activities were struck by the Israeli army in the Yohmor region, southern Lebanon," the statement specified. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz explained that "the Israeli army has just struck Hezbollah terrorists in the Yohmor region, after they engaged in terrorist activities against Israel," in a statement cited by The Times of Israel. "Our policy is clear: zero tolerance towards any violation [of the cease-fire]. We will not allow the terrorist organization Hezbollah to restore its capabilities," he continued.

According to our count, at least 102 people have been killed in Lebanon by Israel since Nov. 27, the date of the cease-fire implementation that ended 13 months of clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah. Last Sunday, at least four people were killed in Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon.
