The Israeli army announced it carried out airstrikes on Monday targeting several fighters who, according to them, were attempting to place explosive devices in the Gaza Strip.

A first strike targeted "three terrorists who were operating near the troops (of the army) and attempting to bury an explosive device in the ground, in the central Gaza Strip," the army said in a statement, reporting another strike in the Rafah region (south) against "several terrorists."
