The early hours of Sunday morning saw two separate Israeli strikes, both carried out with armed drones, killing two people in south Lebanon, according to information from L'Orient Today's correspondent. These airstrikes occurred around 2 a.m. in Yater (Bint Jbeil) along with another strike east of Mais al-Jabal (Marjeyoun).

According to local media, the victim of the strike in Yater was a young man identified as Mohammad Imad Srour, originally from Aita al-Shaab (Bint Jbeil). This strike, conducted with a guided missile, also seriously injured a person who was in the car.

Commenting on these attacks, the Arabic-language spokesperson for the Israeli army, Avichay Adraee, stated that the air force "eliminated two Hezbollah terrorists while they were conducting reconnaissance activities and directing terrorist operations in the regions of Yater and Mais al-Jabal."

A similar strike took place on Saturday on a van in Burj al-Moulouk (Marjeyoun) also resulting in one death. The Israeli army claimed to have fired at a Hezbollah operative carrying out "terrorist activities" in the area.

Fire at sea and trench dug near Houla

Around midnight, an Israeli military ship fired several times toward Lebanese territorial waters without it being clear what the target was. Between 10 and 11 p.m., Israeli soldiers advanced from the Misgav Am kibbutz to the vicinity of the Odaisseh cemetery and destroyed the mosque in Lebanese territory, while another patrol was deployed at Kfar Kila. Automatic weapon and artillary fire were also heard in the direction of the surroundings of Kfar Shouba, according to information from L'Orient Today's correspondent.

The municipality of Houla (Marjeyoun) announced during the night that the Israeli army had dug a "trench" towards the al-Abad site, near the village, "occupying a zone outside the five positions" where they remain deployed in south Lebanon. The municipality called for the Lebanese authorities to intervene immediately, pressing the U.N. and the committee responsible for monitoring the cease-fire implementation to ensure the "usurped" lands are reclaimed.

The cease-fire between Lebanon and Israel took effect on Nov. 27, 2024, ending 13 months of clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah. Israel has been violating this agreement on an almost daily basis since its implementation and continues to occupy five strategically considered points in south Lebanon, notably due to their altitude, along the border.
