The command of the Lebanese Army announced on Tuesday, in a statement, that one of its patrols freed three Syrian nationals who were kidnapped in the Hermel region for ransom.

According to the army's statement, published by the state-run National News Agency (NNA), "on March 10, 2025, following increased surveillance, an army intelligence services (IS) patrol managed to free the Syrians B.A, A.A, and M.S in the Tell region of Hermel (north of the Bekaa), after a gang lured them under the pretense of traveling to a foreign country, before kidnapping them to demand a ransom for their release."

Also according to the statement, another army IS patrol arrested the Lebanese W.G and the Syrian T.M in the Hosh al-Sayed region (north of the Bekaa), suspected of involvement in the kidnapping. The investigation continues to locate other suspects.
