The Arab plan is a direct response to Donald Trump’s proposal in late January to empty Gaza of its inhabitants and turn it into a “Riviera.” On March 4, following an emergency summit of the Arab League in Cairo, Arab countries officially adopted their own plan for post-war Gaza. The Egypt-led initiative outlines the establishment of a committee of “technocrats” to manage the territory during its reconstruction.
