President Joseph Aoun left Cairo on Wednesday to return to Beirut, ending his first official trip abroad which began with a meeting in Saudi Arabia with Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman (MBS), according to a statement published on X.
Before his departure, the Lebanese head of state sent a message of thanks to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi.
“I am pleased, as I leave the Arab Republic of Egypt, to thank you for the warm welcome I received, along with the delegation accompanying me, during my stay in Cairo at the head of the Lebanese delegation to the extraordinary Arab summit – the summit on Palestine, whose decisions I hope will be followed up and implemented,” Aoun wrote, praising the role of the Egyptian head of state in the development of the plan for Gaza, during the extraordinary Arab summit organized in the Egyptian capital in which the Lebanese president participated.
He also invited Sissi to visit Lebanon.
