The prices of gasoline, diesel, and fuel oil decreased for the third time in 10 days, according to the latest price list released by the Energy and Water Ministry.
This decrease comes at a time when crude oil prices on international markets have seen a decline since mid-January: The price of Brent and WTI barrels fell from over $80 on Jan. 15 to just over $70 and less than $68, respectively, according to market data as of Tuesday morning. To set prices, the ministry relies on an index that measures these fluctuations with a few weeks' delay.
While fuel prices may have gone down, the cost for a gas cylinder remained unchanged.
Here are the new rates released by the Ministry of Energy:
- 20 liters of 95 octane gasoline: LL 1,466,000 (-LL 7,000)
- 20 liters of 98 octane gasoline: LL 1,506,000 (-LL 7,000)
- 20 liters of diesel (for vehicles): LL 1,380,000 (-LL 2,000)
- Domestic gas cylinder: 1,115,000 LL (unchanged)
- Kiloliter of fuel oil (used to power private electric generators): $709.30 (-$1.03)
