Founded in 2023 at Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris, the International Research Laboratory on Images and Stage Design (Liris) operates within the Institute for Research in Theater Studies. Bringing together researchers and artists from nine regions worldwide, the academic lab serves as a bridge between diverse cultures and contemporary scenography practices. With 214 members from 53 countries, Liris provides a platform for theatrical scenographers to present their approaches and techniques, fostering constructive exchanges between contributors and participants.For the MENA region, Liris has appointed Talal Darjani — a director, scenographer, writer, researcher and tenured professor at the Lebanese University — as its scientific reference director.
