A massive fire broke out in a fuel tank at the intersection of the towns of Burj al-Arab and Birkayel in the Akkar Governorate, spreading to a nearby building, L'Orient Today's correspondent in the north reported.

Fire trucks from multiple Civil Defense centers rushed to the scene to extinguish the flames, which rose dozens of meters into the air, sending thick black smoke over the area.

Authorities closed the main Abdeh-Halba road to facilitate the movement of firefighting vehicles and prevent potential risks from the fire spreading further.

Several residents of nearby homes evacuated temporarily until the fire was brought under control.
