The ambassadors of the Quintet were received in the morning by President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam where they expressed their "full commitment to supporting the Lebanese state," particularly calling for the complete withdrawal of the Israeli army from Lebanon by Tuesday, the deadline.
This group, which includes Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, the United States and France, is involved in discussions aimed at resolving Lebanon’s multiple crises.
Following a meeting at Baabda between the five ambassadors and Aoun, Egyptian representative Alaa Moussa affirmed the Quintet's "continued support" for the "new phase" that Lebanon is entering after more than two years of presidential vacancy and the formation of a government, and a "full commitment to supporting the Lebanese state."
"We discussed the complete withdrawal of Israel" from Lebanese territories by the end of the ceasefire agreement’s implementation period, on February 18, and the Quintet is "committed to pushing Israel to withdraw on time," including through continued contacts with all parties.
The Quintet ambassadors were also received at the Grand Serail by Nawaf Salam.
