Mobile operator Alfa announced on Wednesday a slowdown of several of its services in various regions in Lebanon. In a statement relayed by the state-run National News Agency (NNA), the operator said that its teams were working to restore the situation "as soon as possible."
In the afternoon, a statement from the operator, relayed by NNA, stated that the network had been restored, apologizing for the inconvenience caused.
No additional information was provided on the cause of the outage or the affected areas. However, many residents of Beirut and Metn reported these malfunctions.
When contacted by L’Orient-Le Jour, the customer service was unreachable, stating in a prerecorded message that they were "overwhelmed with requests and temporarily unavailable." The operator's website displayed a message in English indicating ongoing maintenance and a return within 24 hours.
