Nawaf Salam’s Cabinet held its first session in Baabda on Tuesday, where it addressed its first political challenge: drafting the ministerial statement on which Parliament will take a vote of confidence. If successful, the new Cabinet becomes official and it can begin its work.Historically, this process has largely been seen as a formality, as the ministerial statements’ major points are generally known in advance.
