An army patrol arrested 36 Syrian nationals in the Deir Ammar region (North Lebanon) due to their illegal presence on Lebanese territory, according to a statement from the military command. Lebanon hosts more than 1.5 million Syrian refugees, and the illegal presence of other nationals from the neighboring country is not uncommon.
Another army patrol, accompanied by intelligence service agents, conducted a raid on an apartment in the southern suburbs of Beirut, in the Hay al-Salam neighborhood. Four Lebanese individuals suspected of drug trafficking were arrested. A large quantity of narcotics and weapons were seized.
