Iran stated on Monday that U.S. President Donald Trump's proposal to move Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Egypt and Jordan amounted to "ethnic cleansing."

"I believe the international community (...) should help Palestinians secure their right to self-determination, rather than promoting other ideas that would equate to ethnic cleansing," said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai at a press conference.
