BEIRUT — A small fire broke out on Sunday at Beirut airport before being extinguished, a source in the Civil Defense told L'Orient Today.
A video shared by MTV showed smoke inside the airport, with people wearing masks and filming the incident.
The cause of the fire remains unclear. An expert was dispatched to the airport to investigate.
Commenting on the fire, caretaker Public Works Minister Ali Hamiyeh said that it broke out in the deportation office at the airport before being brought under control. He added that the airport is operating normally.
