The Rafah border crossing, the main entry and exit point for the Palestinian territory, reopened on Saturday for the first time since May 2024 to allow around 50 Palestinian patients to cross from Gaza into Egypt for medical treatment, as shown in live television footage.
According to Reuters, the crossing will initially open for 50 militants and 50 injured civilians, along with their escorts. Additionally, 100 other individuals, likely students, are expected to be allowed through for humanitarian reasons.
