On Jan. 14, on the eve of her retirement, the Cases Authority Head Helene Iskandar lodged a complaint before the court of first instance in Beirut against almost 20 former and current members of the Banque du Liban (BDL), including its ex-governor (currently in prison) Riad Salameh and acting governor Wassim Mansouri, accusing them of having committed “serious misconduct” through the issuance of circulars that are “contrary to the Code of Money and Credit.”Speaking to L’Orient-Le Jour, one of the BDL officials concerned stated that, to date, he had not yet been notified of the complaint, knowing that he, just like the others, has 15 days from the recipient of the notification to submit his responses to the allegations.
