A major fire broke out Thursday in a Syrian displaced persons camp in the village of al-Marj, not far from Zahle in the Bekaa, forcing Civil Defense to dispatch teams on-site, reported L'Orient Today's correspondent in Bekaa.

The fire was contained, but 20 tents were completely burned. No injuries were reported.

Many Syrian refugees in Lebanon live in precarious conditions, with makeshift camps being exposed to accidents and disasters.
