Israeli forces arrested and injured Maroun al-Ras (Bint Jbeil) residents who were attempting to return to their village, one of the town's mukhtars told L'Orient Today Wednesday.
According to the mukhtar, the Israeli forces had kidnapped four people from the town: two young men, a woman and her son. After some time, the woman and the two men were released. The son, Hussein Faris, is still held by the Israeli army.
Speaking to L’Orient Today, he noted that two people were also injured, including one person from outside Maroun al-Ras, who had come to search for the body of his brother who was killed in the town.
Residents attempted to enter the area through the al-Shuhada region, on the northern side of the town, near Aitaroun (Bint Jbeil), the mukhtar said.
They managed to advance toward the town, but an Israeli army force arrived and began shooting and arresting several of them, injuring others.
Residents withdrew and returned to the entrance, waiting for another opportunity to attempt to enter.
The Israeli forces also confiscated an ambulance belonging to the Islamic al-Rissala Association, affiliated with the Amal Movement, but later released it.
