The U.N. secretary-general on Monday urged the Trump administration to add "additional exemptions" to its freeze on all foreign aid, a move made by Washington on Friday that excludes only Egypt, Israel and emergency food assistance.
Antonio Guterres "took note, with concern" of this decision by the new U.S. administration, and "calls for further exemptions to be considered," according to a statement from his spokesman, Stéphane Dujarric. Assistance projects have already been suspended in Ukraine.
