Something has changed between Hezbollah and Hamas. Since securing the Gaza and Lebanon cease-fire deals, and the major regional changes, it looks like Hamas is now seeking to support Hezbollah, whereas previously, it was Hezbollah that supported Hamas.

During an informal meeting with a few journalists, a senior Hamas official insinuated that the Egypt and Qatar-brokered Gaza deal is better than the one reached between Lebanon and Israel through the Americans.While the Hamas official believes that it is unlikely for the Israel-Lebanon war to resume, he said he felt that a trap had been set for Hezbollah, through the 60-day deadline that expired yesterday without leading to a total Israeli withdrawal, and without even requiring the monitoring committee to meet to announce the latest decisions and shape the outlines of the period that follows the deadline’s expiry.According to him, the three-stage Gaza agreement is thus clearer, and Hamas has, he said, taken all the necessary precautions to protect the enclave from any further Israeli attack.
